BSBI Scottish Officer
Jim McIntosh is the BSBI Scottish Officer. He was appointed in November 2004, on a 4 year contract. The post is jointly funded by the BSBI and Scottish Natural Heritage, and is based at Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh.
The post aims to:
- Promote botanical interest and co-operation in Scotland
- Support and grow the BSBI Scottish membership
- Help deliver major conservation initiatives
Conservation initiatives / projects include:
- Rare Plant Registers (local red lists)
- Site Condition Monitoring
- Supporting Vice-county Recorders

- Computerising Recorders' paper records
